Why Chose an IBCLC or board-certified Lactation Consultant?

Breastfeeding can be one of life's greatest bonding experiences. It is often also met with challenges that can be easily fixed with the guidance of a breastfeeding expert. A Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is a breastfeeding expert who has met the rigorous clinical and didactic expectations, as well as continuing education, to become a provider in the field of lactation. IBCLC's work closely with the clinical care team to manage feeding plans and optimize best outcomes. An IBCLC follows an evidence-based, mandated scope of practice, governed by the international board of lactation examiners, and is the only board-certified lactation consulting credential. IBCLC's are a respected and integral part of the healthcare team.
